This policy describes how JobFit ("we", "the service") handles your information. JobFit is a free Chrome extension and web app that helps Hong Kong job seekers save job postings and self-assess their fit. For your rights and responsibilities when using the service, see our Terms of Service.

What we collect

Account data. When you sign in, we receive your email address and a unique user identifier from our authentication provider, Clerk. We do not store your password — Clerk handles authentication and never shares your password with us.
Saved job postings. When you choose to save a posting, we store the job title, advertiser name, source URL, and the job description text you captured, so you can review them later.
Assessment data. If you run a fit check, we store the questions, your answers, and the resulting scores, so you can review your history and retake assessments.
Usage data. We process basic request logs (timestamps, request paths) on Cloudflare's edge for security, reliability, and caching. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.

What the Chrome extension reads

The extension only reads the page content of a supported job site when you actively click Save current job. It captures the visible job details from that single page and sends them to your account. It does not read other tabs, your browsing history, or pages you do not explicitly save.

The extension uses the cookies permission solely so that our authentication provider (Clerk) can keep your sign-in session in sync with the Clerk Frontend API host. Cookies are used only for authentication, never for advertising or tracking.

How we use it

To provide the save, review, and fit-check features.
To generate AI-based job breakdowns and assessment questions on your request.
To keep the service secure and reliable.

We do not sell your data. We do not share saved job postings with employers or third parties. Your saved data is tied to your account and is not shown to other users.

AI processing

When you request a breakdown or assessment, the relevant job description text is sent to a third-party language model provider for processing and returned to you. We only send the text needed to produce your result. Do not save postings containing information you would not want processed in this way.

Data retention & deletion

Your data is kept until you delete it. You can delete individual saved jobs at any time from the app; deleting a job also removes its associated breakdowns and assessments. You can request full account deletion by contacting us.

Clerk — authentication.
Cloudflare — hosting, database, and edge delivery.
A language model API provider — on-demand breakdown and question generation.

Children

JobFit is not directed at children under 16 and is not intended for their use.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "last updated" date above.
