These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of JobFit ("the service", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. JobFit is operated as a free tool to help Hong Kong job seekers save job postings and self-assess their fit.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use JobFit. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide (for example, when signing in) and for keeping your account credentials secure.

2. The service

JobFit provides (a) a browser extension that captures job postings from supported Hong Kong job sites on your explicit action, and (b) a web app that lets you review saved postings, generate an AI-based breakdown of a job description, and complete a self-assessment quiz. JobFit is provided free of charge at current usage levels; we may introduce paid tiers in the future.

3. AI-generated content is not professional advice

Job descriptions are parsed and assessments, questions, and score breakdowns are generated using third-party language model services. These outputs are not career advice, recruitment guidance, a hiring prediction, or a guarantee of any outcome. They are a structured self-check meant to help you organise your thinking before you invest time applying. Any decisions you make based on a JobFit assessment are yours alone.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the job descriptions you save. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process that content only for the purpose of operating the service (storing, displaying, generating breakdowns and assessments on your request). We do not sell or share your saved postings with employers or third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Abuse or attempt to circumvent the free-tier usage limits.
Use JobFit to scrape, harvest, or mass-collect job postings, or to redistribute them at scale.
Upload content that you do not have the right to save, or that is unlawful, infringing, or harmful.
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract source code from the service, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits.
Use the service to build a competing product or to train a model.

6. Intellectual property

The service, including its design, code, branding, and the AI-generated prompts and templates we use, is owned by us (or our licensors) and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you.

7. Third-party services

JobFit relies on third-party providers for authentication (Clerk), hosting and storage (Cloudflare), and AI processing (a third-party language model API). Your use of those services through JobFit is subject to their respective terms. We are not responsible for the availability or behaviour of third-party services, but we choose providers with appropriate security and reliability practices.

8. No warranty; free service

JobFit is provided free of charge on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any assessment output is accurate.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) JobFit. Where liability cannot be excluded, our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, for the current free tier, is zero).

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop using JobFit at any time and request deletion of your account and data. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the service, or where required by law. We will try to give reasonable notice where practicable.

11. Changes

We may update JobFit and these Terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "last updated" date above. Continued use of JobFit after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong, except where mandatory consumer protection laws of your place of residence apply.

14. Entire agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, form the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of JobFit.
